Gaby Deslys was an extremely popular French singer in the 1910s. Known for her extravagant lifestyle she sadly died in 1920 from a combination of a throat infection and influenza.
In her lifetime recording was still very new, she only made 3 recordings. But one (La Parisienne) was rejected and never released. Thus these are the only two known recordings of her, both made in 1910. Despite the primitive technology her charm and vocal skills come through grandly.
